While some symptoms can be both challenging and warrant a call to your doctor, there are also plenty of symptoms that [thankfully] don't. Pregnancy fatigue is one of them 😅 Other symptoms you don't really need to worry about are…
Body Aches | Both common and uncomfortable, as your uterus grows your body will be in a state of constant change. You'll barely have time to adjust (if at all) before it changes again.
Confusion | aka. baby brain…it's real, it exists and it's everything from words to appointments to keys in the cupboard. Frustrating? Yes! Serious health concern? No. Give yourself some grace when these moments come up, you have a lot on your mind!
Constipation | Having a harder time pooping? 💩 Well, baby is pressing down a bit more on your rectum these days and sometimes, the iron used in prenatal vitamins OR if you're taking an iron supplement can also lead to constipation. This is where your diet can make a huge difference! Fiber-rich foods, staying hydrated and moving your body are great places to start!
Mood Swings | Normally, I'm not one to say mood swings are normal because they have a lot to do with hormonal imbalances…but you're pregnant and you kind of are hormonally imbalanced? All of these physical changes affect how we feel mentally and emotionally so one of the most important things we can do for ourselves is talk it out, prioritize what we can control, prepare for birth and postpartum and trust ourselves just a bit more. We've got this! 💛👊
Pregnancy is not a walk in the park, even for those of us who feel less than pregnant and very much like our best selves. If you're experiencing any of these symptoms, definitely mention them to your prenatal health care provider when they ask how you've been.
